Design. relative term. It says it all and nothing at all at the same time. Wouldn't it be more fun to combine things that cost you the least and give you an interior, personalized to the max? I study interior design in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. I hope to share my work and ideas through this blog with anyone who was randomly clicking things on the internet (preferably with one finger in the nose) and accidentally bumped into this blog. |

Got this picture from @fucktyler’s twitter. I love the blue ceiling and walls combined with white.
Birdy birdy (om) nom nom..
Make the best of it if you don’t have plaster.
This week I bought some Jasmine incense and an incense holder for €1,- at a Chinese store around the corner.
The incense holder was just a plain wooden little ‘plank’ and I decided to decorate it with some kind of pattern. I love the pattern of peacock feathers, so I ‘inspired’ my incense holder on the pattern as can be seen on the first photo.
I used acrylic paint (bought that for just a few euros at Action) and later I will coat it with translucent nailpolish. The end result can be seen on the bottom two photos.
I wanted to paint my old ugly crooked wall next to the stairs, under the handrail, blue. So I started searching the internet to find a design or pattern I could use for it. Turns out: pottery is perfect for finding inspiration! I absolutely LOVE the design on the cups of Pols Potten.
I drew a couple of designs I found online in my dummy / sketchbook. (First photo)
I started setting up lines on the wall as you can see on the second photo, and that little part took me about an hour! How SLOW can you go?
P.s. Look at the lovely ‘little’ crack my wall’s got there.. ^_^
I actually started this some time ago, never finished it. Now I don’t even want to finish it due to the horrible temperature in my house. I would freeze my ass off. I’ll just wait for springtime to come and post the end result by then.
I got the balloons from my neighbour, who thought it would be fun to stick these to my front door. It was, so, mission accomplished mr. Neighbour.
The lamp used to be bright white, but since I was unable to find any lamp that didn’t shine as bright as a fluorescent lamp, I decided to colour the white paper. So I took a light brown marker (available at any handycraft store for about €2,50) and marked the white paper in between the iron wire brown. It’s giving a slightly warmer effect, I have noticed.
The guirlande (that sounds way too fancy), you can find at your local supermarket for a few euros.
As a little project for school we had to cut out Marmoleum, also known as Linoleum. It’s called Marmoleum because it’s supposed to have a marble look to it. Yeah. Whatevs.
So I designed a lil’ sumsum, cut it out and glued it together to make it fit like a puzzle.
I will call it Cupcat.
Bottom bowl: HEMA (€1 a piece) ▲ Flowered rice bowls: Xenos (about €1,50 a piece) ▲ Mint dotted rice bowl: Xenos (about €1,50) ▲ Ramequin: included with puff pastry from the supermarket. Also available at Xenos for little money.
